Masala Chhaas/Buttermilk Recipe

This drink is a super hit at most Indian homes! It is a coolant, easy on the tummy and the crushed roasted cumin seeds aid in quick and easy digestion, especially after a heavy meal!
The recent secret that I learned about this Magic drink is that if you have sugar cravings and having a dessert is a must have for you after every meal, you must drink a glass of chilled chhaas immediately after your meals. This immediately avoids that sweet craving! 
I have tried and tested this method to curb my stubborn sweet tooth and I was surprised and happy to learn that it worked wonders!!! 🙂 🙂

Ingredients

  • 500 gms Plain yogurt (dahi)
  • 2 tspn Roasted cumin seeds (powdered)
  • 1/2 tspn Roasted cumin seeds (whole)
  • 1 tspn Chaat masala (optional)
  • 1 tspn Red chilly Powder
  • Salt (as per taste)
  • 1 litre Room temperature Water
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Coriander (chopped fine)

Instructions

  • In a wide Bowl, Add All the above mentioned ingredients and Whisk with a hand whisk so that all the yogurt lumps break down 
  • If you do not have a hand whisk, You can also blend the yogurt in a Mixer Jar and then add it into a vessel along with all the other ingredients
  • Garnish with fresh chopped coriander
  • Cover the bowl and place it in the refrigerator till chilled
  • Serve chilled

  • Note:-
    You can Store this in a bottle in the refrigerator for about 2 weeks
