My Story…

As a child I used to wake up at the Aroma of various flavors of Food in my kitchen because my Mum used to own a catering business back then and her main kitchen was our Home Kitchen. I used to watch her working so hard yet enjoying herself while working and she never failed to give us the Best!! That’s when the thought popped up in my head “When I grow up, I want to earn yes, but I want to enjoy my work as well just like my Mommy” So, as I grew up, I started trying out using random ingredients and cooking up a dish and giving it so proudly to my neighbors to taste! And they used to compliment me and say “my God, you’re just like your Mom. The food is amazing!” The sound of those words used to get me so excited 🙂 🙂 And from then, on All I knew is that I wanted to be “Just Like my MOM”
My love and passion for cooking grew stronger when, after tasting my food, people kept saying and keep saying “Your food is just like your Mom’s” What more can a humble & passionate Home Chef ask for, than the privilege of their food being compared to that of a Mother’s, which is always filled with Love, Flavour and Perfection?
So, after my education, I didn’t take up a job but started a small eatery along with my Mom in Mumbai. I successfully ran it for 2 years but Marriage brought me to Dubai and I didn’t have the manpower and skill to run the Business from a distance. That’s when in Dubai, I kept motivating myself by saying “I can and I will only Live to Cook” Since I couldn’t follow my business dreams in Dubai, I promised myself to learn to cook a New dish each and everyday from various cook shows, websites, books and some by my sheer imagination and Guess what! I have managed to put together many dishes & recipes in my kitty which I can proudly call my own and I’d love to share them all with you, along with various tips and techniques that I have learned so far, because my professor once told me that teaching/training is twice learning.

My Mom and I have learned to cook because our dear friends and family have been very kind to share their knowledge, techniques and recipes with us over the years and we are ever so thankful to all of them for doing so! Hence, through my blog, I would like to share my humble cooking knowledge, skills, techniques and recipes with you all by carrying on the trend of “sharing” because that’s exactly how my Mum & I learned it!
