Take off the ends of the French beans
Cut the French beans either round or in slants and transfer it into a wide bowl. My Mom in law cuts in round and she cuts it so fine. Patience to another level. It took me 1 hour to cut it so fine but then I wanted to do it exactly the way she does
Put some water into the bowl and wash the French Beans and then Drain the water and keep the French beans aside
In a skillet, heat some oil on medium heat
Once the Oil turns Hot, add the Onions, Chillies and Garlica nd Saute until the Onion turn light brown
Then transfer the French beans, Turmeric and Salt and give it a mix
Put the lid on and add about ½ a cup of water over the lidNote: So this is what my Mommy in law does. She put some water over the lid. When the Water on the lid is fully evaporated it means the veggie is done. This acts as a timer of sorts to tell when the veg is ready. More like a warning NOT to keep opening it to check every time. The veg cooks in it’s own MoistureJust ensure the heat is not high or else by the time you take off the lid, you’re going to have a burnt base veg! hahaha Once the water is evaporated, take off the lid and check that the veg is ready. It will be nice and crunchy as we haven’t used any water in this recipe
Turn off the heat and Enjoy this super delicious French bean bhaji the Mommy in law way with steaming Hot chaps! So good! Yummmm
